Eco-Friendly Practices

Nature inspires my art, and I'm dedicated to protecting it by using eco-friendly materials. My packaging materials are in some way recyclable, compostable, or reusable, making it easy for you to make environmentally-conscious choices with your purchase.

Summary of my current practices:
Prints
  • My fine art prints are made from vegan Hahnemühle Agave paper, which is made from 70% sisal fibers and features a bright white natural tone without optical brighteners. Its rough yet refined texture adds depth and a soft feel, while the matte premium inkjet coating ensures excellent color, detail, and contrast. Hahnemühle Agave paper is acid- and lignin-free, ensuring longevity. Agave is a sustainable plant, requiring minimal water and no fertilizers or pesticides, and can be harvested multiple times over 15 years, enhancing soil quality and biodiversity. You can find more information about this paper one the Hahnemühle website.
  • Each print is placed inside a protective plastic sleeve that's ideal for shipping and storage. This plastic sleeve contains 10% recycled polypropylene and is acid- and lignin-free to prevent deterioration. This sleeve is also resealable so it can be reused many times. Based on my research, unfortunately there is not a good alternative to this as other materials like paper are not suitable for storing high-quality fine art prints. This is something I plan to continue to research!
  • Further protection is provided by repurposed cardboard that will be inserted in mailer to prevent package from being bent.
Cards
  • Your card packaging will have no plastic, but rather your card bundle (or single card if you only ordered one) will be wrapped inside kraft tissue paper, which is made from 100% recycled materials, including 20% post-consumer waste. It is FSC certified, plastic-free, curbside recyclable, and compostable. Produced in the USA, this ensures a low transportation footprint and transparent supply chain. You can find more information about this tissue paper at EcoEnclose.
Shipping materials
  • Rigid mailers used for shipping are made from 100% recycled kraft paper with 90% post-consumer waste. They are plastic-free, curbside recyclable, and naturally biodegradable. The mailers are produced in the USA, supporting a transparent supply chain and reducing transportation emissions. You can find more information about these mailers at EcoEnclose.
  • Decorative washi tape is also used in my packaging, which is made out of rice paper.
Future plans
As my shop grows, I plan to expand my eco-friendly practices as I learn more about what types of products are available!
