The inspiration for this painting comes from a photo I took during a trip to Ireland in March 2022. Being on top of a cliff looking out over the Atlantic Ocean was a powerful moment of feeling small, in a good way - like I'm part of something bigger than myself. I had just made a large change in my life and knew I may be dealing with the effects for awhile, but was also comforted by my resilience despite the uncertainty. The painting itself wasn't painted until two years later, when I was visiting a cafe in Newmarket, NH, and I reflected on the growth and strength needed to get through those times and how much this trip helped me gain perspective.
